Dr Johanna Meyer is a Clinical Psychologist and Psychology Board-Approved Supervisor who uses evidence-based therapies to help adults with a variety of mental health concerns. Johanna's area of special interest is helping people overcome anxiety. She has extensive clinical and research experience in the treatment of anxiety-related problems such as: social anxiety, phobias, panic attacks, health anxiety, obsessions and compulsions (OCD), PTSD, agoraphobia, and generalised anxiety (GAD). Johanna is trained in Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP). She approaches every therapy session with her core values of being compassionate, respectful, and genuine.

Dr Johanna Meyer is a Clinical Psychologist and Psychology Board-Approved Supervisor who uses evidence-based therapies to help adults with a variety of mental health concerns. After obtaining a Bachelor’s degree (with Honours) and a Master’s degree in Psychology in the United States, she moved to Australia and obtained a combined Master of Clinical Psychology/PhD degree (with Examiners’ Commendation for Outstanding Thesis) at the University of Wollongong. Johanna’s Honours, Masters, and PhD research all focused on enhancing the treatment of anxiety.Johanna has provided psychological intervention across many settings, including: not-for-profit organisations such as headspace, private practice, inpatient facilities, a specialist anxiety clinic, and university clinics. She has experience helping people with grief and loss, anger, low self-esteem, adjustment to difficult transitions, body-focussed repetitive behaviours (e.g., hair pulling, skin picking, nail biting), gender- and sexuality-related issues, poor body image, trauma, depression, stress, interpersonal difficulties, relationship breakdowns, attention/hyperactivity, and poor sleep.

While Johanna enjoys treating the issues above, her area of special interest is helping people overcome anxiety. She has extensive clinical and research experience in the treatment of anxiety-related problems such as: social anxiety, phobias, panic attacks, health anxiety, obsessions and compulsions (OCD), PTSD, agoraphobia, and generalised anxiety (GAD).

Johanna is also passionate about providing safe, respectful psychological support to members of LGBTQIA+ communities.
